These B-70-7 class 50’ insulated plug-door boxcars with Roller Bearing trucks were built in 1962 and rebuilt and renumbered by Cotton Belt in 1979. They featured a cushioned underframe, insulated walls, and CAR-PAC loaders. St. Louis Southwestern, commonly known as Cotton Belt, was founded in 1891 and became a Southern Pacific subsidiary in 1932, before eventually fully merging in 1992. It is now a heritage component of Union Pacific.

Today, NS is one of the largest Class 1 Railroads with over 30,000 employees and operates nearly 22,000 miles of track in the Eastern and Midwestern United States.

This 60’ excess height box car with Barber Roller Bearing trucks celebrates 160 years of Union Pacific® operation. The company was founded in 1862 and was part of the first Transcontinental Railroad, completed in 1869, and continues to operate today as one of the largest Class 1 freight railroads in North America with over 32,000 miles of track.
Built in the mid-2000s, these 100-ton three-bay open hoppers with Barber Roller Bearing trucks are used primarily for coal, but occasionally other aggregates. Wheeling & Lake Erie was founded in 1990, and uses the name of the former W&LE that operated from 1880 until 1949. Most of the locomotives and rolling stock use stylized speed lettering and the color scheme of the D&RGW. It is headquartered in Brewster, Ohio, operating as a Class II regional railroad, interchanging with CSX and NS in the Northern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania region.

Pullman-Standard built over one million freight cars and decorated several over the years commemorating various milestones. This car commemorates the 85,000th PS-1 built since 1946, which was one quarter of all the boxcars built at the time. Founded in the late 1860s, Pullman-Standard became the nation’s largest manufacturer of freight and passenger cars by the 1930s and continued to produce freight cars until 1968.

Built in March of 1958, this PS-2 hopper with Bettendorf trucks was purchased by Western Pacific in an order of 30 cars. The Pullman-Standard all-welded steel, 2,003 cubic-foot two bay covered hopper would become one of the most popular cars of its type with railroads and private industry. It was designed to haul everything from powdered chemicals, to grains, to construction materials such as sand or cement. Versatile and durable, this car continued in revenue service into the early 2000’s, and was sometimes found later in MOW service.
