Built at the Pullman Works in the 1890s, this Wickes Patent car belonged to the third order placed by ATSF. Belonging to series 720-969, these cars continued to serve as-built until 1914, when they were converted into ice cars.

Built in 1983, this DOT 111A100W1 tank car was designed to carry diesel fuel for BCR, later becoming BC Rail. With over 1400 miles of track, BC Rail was the third largest railroad in Canada before railroad assets were permanently leased to Canadian National in 2004.

This 40’ outside braced box car with 1-1/2 Doors and vertical brakewheel is brown with white lettering and runs on Andrews trucks. Built in January of 1923 by Pullman, this 40’ outside braced boxcar was rebuilt in the late 1930s and repainted with the “Everywhere West” slogan. Lettered for automobile service, these cars were repainted again in the mid-1940s and the auto service marking was removed.

This modernized heavyweight business car is tuscan red with buff lettering and runs on 6-wheel Commonwealth trucks. Built in 1928 by the Altoona Shops, number 120, the “Pennsylvania,” was assigned to the highest tier of company business. It was used by PRR Presidents and also U.S. Presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt through John F. Kennedy, and has been privately owned since 1971.

The H. J. Heinz Company, more commonly known as simply HEINZ, is an American food processing company that was founded by Henry John Heinz in 1869. With humble beginnings, Henry and friend Clarence Noble, began manufacturing horseradish in his father’s basement. The company would later expand to include tomato ketchup in 1875 and eventually over 60 food products by the mid-1890’s. HEINZ introduced its “57 Varieties” slogan in 1896 which was included on many of their very colorful billboard reefer cars. By 1919 the company had grown to over 6,000 employees and 25 factories and relied heavily on their fleet of over 700 railroad cars to transport their food products across the country.
