These 60’ excess height box cars with modified sides are black with grey sides and run on Barber Roller Bearing trucks. Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun and is tiny, only slightly larger than Earth’s moon. With no true atmosphere, the cratered surface can reach 806° Fahrenheit during the day and -290° at night.

New Haven
Road Number 6818

This 78’ heavyweight single-window coach is black with red band and runs on Commonwealth 4-wheel passenger car trucks. Built in 1929, this smoker car was outfitted with Heywood-Wakefield brown leather seats and belonged to a series of 24 cars. It was painted in the New Haven “New Image” black and red paint scheme in the mid-1950s and the car was used until the late 1960s.

Southern Pacific®

SP® is a registered trademark of the Union Pacific Railroad.

These 50’ standard box cars with 10’ single door, no roofwalk and short ladders are brown with white lettering and run on Roller Bearing trucks. Built in 1957, these boxcars were one of the first to be equipped with a Hydra-Cushion underframe, designed jointly by Southern Pacific and Stanford University, to help reduce commodity damage from slack action and other in-train shock forces. These cars continued to be seen in revenue service through the early 1990s.

TTX
Road Numbers TTGX 711001/711010

These 89’ tri-level closed autoracks are yellow with black lettering and run on Barber Roller Bearing trucks. Owned and lettered for TTX, this design is of the universal standard design used by most railroads. With end loading doors and enclosed sides, this design prevents vandalism and pilferage and helps to protect vehicles from the elements.

Ambrose Wine Company
Road Number NATX 7501

GRAPE-TO-GLASS SERIES #5

This 3-dome tank car is aluminum with red lettering and runs on Bettendorf trucks. Called “One of America’s Great Bottlers of Fine California Wines,” Ambrose Wine Company of Kansas City, Missouri, was a reseller that partnered with other wineries and vineyards to both import and distribute domestic wine in the United States.

Southern
Road Number 1055

This 78’ heavyweight single-window coach is green with metalic lettering and runs on 6-wheel passenger cart trucks. Built in 1910s, this car belonged to a series of 15 cars. It was used in revenue service until the mid-1960s when it was placed into excursion service. The Southern Railway was a Class 1 railroad based in the Southeast United States from 1894-1982.

Western Pacific®
Road Number WP 11921

WP® is a registered trademark of the Union Pacific Railroad.

This 3-bay covered hopper with round hatches is grey with black lettering and runs on Barber Roller Bearing trucks. Designed by American Car & Foundry, this car belonged to a small series built in 1967. It was used to ship lightweight granular commodities such as phosphates and salts.

Canadian Pacific
Road Number CP 304903

WITH LUMBER LOAD

This 61’ bulkhead flat car is white with black lettering and runs on Barber Roller Bearing trucks. Belonging to a small 40-car series, this car is used to transport oversize loads the bulkheads on each end preventing horizontal shifting from sudden acceleration or deceleration of the train. Canadian Pacific was formed in 1881, and remains one of the largest Class 1 railroads in North America.

CAMEO SERIES CAR #4

This 50’ standard box car with single door is blue with yellow band and runs on Roller Bearing trucks. Designed for C&O’s Less-than-Carload service, this car was one of six specially painted for viewing by company stockholders in 1957, using the newly adopted Futura lettering style and featuring a yellow sill stripe to increase nighttime visibility. Ultimately, the LCL program did not have the required demand to be successful, and these cars were later painted back into standard fleet colors.

These 50’ rib side box cars with single door without roofwalk are black with white lettering and run on Barber Roller Bearing trucks. Built in 1975 for Norfolk & Western these boxcars were used for food grade loading only. Norfolk & Western was a Class 1 railroad which operated on the east coast from 1838-1982. It then combined with Southern Railway to form Norfolk Southern.

These 50’ rib side box cars with plug door and no roofwalk are red with white lettering and run on Barber Roller Bearing trucks. Built in 1970 by ATSF, these boxcars were insulated to transport temperature sensitive commodities. Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe was formed in 1859 and became one of the largest freight railroads in the nation before it merged with Burlington Northern Railroad in 1996 to form Burlington Northern Santa Fe which continues to operate to this day.

In the days before the convenience of air-mail, the internet or cell phones, Santa Fe’s Fast Mail Express Train was a critical link that worked alongside the United States Post Office to transport high priority mail and packages. Parcels such as breaking news, periodicals, fresh seafood and fruit, and company mail and materials generally could not wait for shipment in standard freight services. In the mid-1940s, Train No. 7 was the main east-west Fast Mail Express train, running from Chicago to Los Angeles with an assortment of baggage cars, RPO’s, an express boxcar and a coach (or “rider” car) for paying passengers.

The decorated vehicles will come painted with our factory Olive Drab and/or Tan paint and will include printed headlights and taillights. The interior window, shell and underframe will be assembled together, however the extra wheel, snorkel and etched-metal pieces will not come installed. The etched-metal pieces will be painted the same color as the vehicle. The undecorated Humvee comes unassembled so you can easily decorate to your desire.
