These 56’ general service tank cars are painted black with white lettering and run on Barber Roller Bearing trucks. Built in 1983 as part of series 880298-880326 they were designed to carry just about any liquid commodity ranging from potable water to fuel oils and sweeteners. Carrying in excess of 26,000 gallons, these welded cars could be found in long strings and in mixed freight nationwide after the Santa Fe and Burlington Northern merger in 1995.

This 70’ heavyweight horse car is painted in the blue and gray scheme and ran on 6-wheel passenger trucks. It was designed to transport valuable livestock between race tracks and training facilities during the 20’s and 30’s. During WWII they moved cavalry units, acted as early auto transport cars and then as they transitioned with lightweight cars, became express baggage cars.

This RPO heavyweight passenger car is painted green with a black band and yellow lettering and ran on 6-wheel passenger trucks. Given the great expanse of Canada, mail moved by the railroad became an important revenue source and lifeline between population centers. These 60’ RPO’s found service in mixed freight and provided much needed postal services in remote areas.

This 40’ double-sheathed wood box car with 1-1/2 door is brown with white lettering. Built in 1916, this car was designed to carry automobiles and protect them from road wear and cinders from the locomotive pulling the train. With an 80,000 lb weight limit these cars rode on National B-1 trucks and had some of the early steel underframes with fish belly sides.
