This 50’ standard box car with 10’ single door, short ladders and no roofwalk is brown with yellow lettering and runs on Bettendorf trucks. Built for Chesapeake & Ohio in 1960s, this car featured load dividers and DFB loading devices. It later had its roof walk removed, and was repainted post-merger with B&O and WM in the Chessie System scheme.

McCahan Sugar Refining Company
Road Number W.J. McC. S. R. Co. 25

SWEET LIQUID SERIES #9

This 39’ single dome tank car is black with white lettering and runs on Archbar trucks. Built in April 1920, this car was owned and operated by the W.J. McCahan Sugar Refining Company based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This 50-ton, non-insulated car had an 8,105 gallon capacity. The W.J. McCahan Company was founded in 1892, and in 1944 was sold to the American Sugar Refining Company.

CSXT®/ex-WM
Road Number CSXT 226699

CSX® FAMILY TREE SERIES #2

This 2-bay covered hopper is tan with black lettering and runs on Barber Roller Bearing trucks. Built in 1970 for Western Maryland, this 2,970 cubic-foot capacity hopper eventually made its way to CSX in the 1980s and was used to transport high-density granular commodities such as sand.

This 100-ton 3-bay open hopper with rib sides is black with yellow lettering and runs on Barber Roller Bearing trucks. Serviced in 1989, this hopper belonged to a 200-car series, 801401-801457. With a 3,418 cubic-foot capacity, it also had a “hopper topper” added during seasonal surges of grain and allowed the car to switch between coal service and grain service. Cars were washed thoroughly and the topper was added to the car, making in essence, a weatherproof covered grain hopper.

Conrail
Road Number CR 161921

This 50’ standard box car with 10’ single door, no roofwalk and short ladders is brown with white lettering and runs on Bettendorf trucks. Built in the 1960s, this 4,888 cubic-foot capacity boxcar was rebuilt in 1978 and repainted into the large Conrail “can opener” scheme. New York Central merged with its rival, the Pennsylvania Railroad, in 1968 to form Penn Central, which went bankrupt two years later and was merged into Conrail in 1976.

Northern Refrigerator Car Co.
Road Number 2951

This 36’ wood sheathed ice reefer with truss rods is brown with white sides and runs on Bettendorf trucks. Built in the late 1920s, this car was decorated for the PET Evaporated Milk company and owned by Northern Refrigerator Car Company. Contrary to the name, PET was an American brand of high-quality evaporated dairy products for human consumption, and was founded in 1885.

This steel-side RR-29-class ice reefer was built by General American Transportation in the early 1940s, and was equipped with underframe cushioning and air-circulating fans. Santa Fe was a large Class 1 railroad founded in 1859 and operated for over 130 years before being merged with Burlington Northern in 1996 to form BNSF.

The armored Humvee® vehicle is an expanded capacity or general-purpose vehicle. This four-person configuration can be used for a variety of missions—from command and control to armed patrol. It is available with an optional Weapons Mount and Turret and can be customized for special operations. It was introduced in 1983, and first saw widespread use in the Gulf War in 1991. It continues to be an essential frontline utility vehicle today, with some employed by Sheriff’s Departments across the country.

This 39’ single dome tank car is black with white lettering and runs on Archbar trucks. Built in 1921 by General American, this GATX-owned tank car was leased to Union Starch & Refining Co., of Granite City, Illinois. Used to carry corn-syrup and other liquids used in the commercial sugar manufacturing industry, it was used through the 1950s before being retired.

These 60’ excess height box cars, with double plug doors and rivet sides are black with decorated sides and run on Barber Roller Bearing trucks. Scorpius is located in the Southern celestial hemisphere. Sagittarius is one of the constellations of the zodiac and is located in the Southern celestial hemisphere. Its name is Latin for “archer,” and its symbol is a stylized arrow. Capricornus is the smallest constellation of the zodiac, and is located in the Southern Hemisphere. Its name is Latin for “horned goat,” though it is often represented as a mythical sea-goat.
