In early 1991, Burlington Northern received an order of 16 single Husky-Stack cars from Gunderson, accommodating containers up to 48’ in the lower well position. The Husky-Stack® well car was first introduced in 1990 at the International Intermodal Expo in Atlanta, GA.

Union Pacific® RD#: UP 499030
This 50’ standard box car with 8’ plug door, no roofwalk and short ladders is aluminum with orange sides and runs on Bettendorf trucks. These all-steel insulated boxcars were built at the Omaha shops and added to the roster in July 1955. They were equipped with DF loaders and assigned to series 499000-499099. Overhauled and repainted in 1968, this car continued to serve until the late 1980s.

These 53’ corrugated containers are white with black lettering. Formed in 1992, National Fast Freight provides a Less-than-Truckload service in the US and Canada. Often found on the top position of 48’ well cars, these 110” tall Jindo-built units are truly ubiquitous across the United States rail network.
These EMD SD40-2 locomotives are black with white lettering. Formerly a Conrail locomotive, this SD40-2 was obtained by Norfolk Southern in the 1999 split-up of Conrail and was later repainted with the new “Horse Head Soaring” logo. The EMD SD40-2 is a 3,000 horsepower, turbocharged locomotive with electronic control systems built from 1972 to 1989 with nearly 4,000 units produced. It was the best-selling EMD locomotive in history.

This modernized heavyweight business car is aluminum with red band and runs on 6-wheel Commonwealth Equalizer trucks. Built in 1926, the SP #100 “Airslie” was originally assigned to Southern Pacific Board Chairman, Henry Wheeler Deforrest and was often seen in New York for company business. Deforrest named the car “Airslie” for a family hunting lodge in Scotland.

In 1964 Southern Pacific developed the 100-ton F-100 flat cars primarily to use their Hydra-Cushion technology to move large or sensitive components. Five cars of the class were assigned to transport Titan Rocket Boosters and its supporting equipment from Vandenberg AFB, California to Cape Canaveral, Florida for assembly. These cars remained in SP service until 1994 when United Technologies took over the program until the last Titan launch in 2008. This weathered 3-pack will include resin-cast booster canisters, 3D printed AC Units and decals to decorate the loads.

Built from 1970 to 1971 for Southern Pacific, these SW1500 locomotives were repainted for Union Pacific after the 1996 merger, and many continue to serve today. The EMD SW1500 is a 1,500 hp diesel-electric locomotive intended for switching service.
These SW1500 locomotives are green with orange band and green lettering and run on AAR trucks. Built in the late 1960s for Frisco, these SW1500 locomotives were acquired by Burlington Northern, and later repainted for BNSF sometime after the merger. Wearing the Heritage I scheme, some still serve today. The EMD SW1500 is a 1,500 hp diesel-electric locomotive intended for switching service.
