This 3-2 heavyweight observation car is two-tone grey and runs on 6-wheel passenger trucks. Built for Union Pacific in 1912, it was repainted into the postwar two- one grey scheme in 1946. Business cars were standard equipment for Union Pacific and served across their extensive rail network.

Southern Pacific®
RD#: SP 7225

This 70’ heavyweight horse car is SP Olive Green with gold lettering and runs on 6-wheel passenger trucks. Built by Bethlehem Steel in 1927, this Class 70-BH-3 car was in a series of eight, and served across the SP network under this road number until the late 1950s.

Burlington Northern
RD#: BN 64003/64018

These 70’ husky stack well cars are red with white lettering and run on ASF Ride Control trucks. In early 1991, Burlington Northern received an order of 16 single Husky-Stack cars from Gunderson, accommodating containers up to 48’ in the lower well position. The Husky-Stack® well car was first introduced in 1990 at the International Intermodal Expo in Atlanta, GA.

Union Pacific®
RD#: UP 499030

This 50’ standard box car with 8’ plug door, no roofwalk and short ladders is aluminum with orange sides and runs on Bettendorf trucks. These all-steel insulated boxcars were built at the Omaha shops and added to the roster in July 1955. They were equipped with DF loaders and assigned to series 499000-499099. Overhauled and repainted in 1968, this car continued to serve until the late 1980s.

WWII Poster Series - Car#2: Union Pacific®

This 50’ troop sleeper is dark green and runs on Allied Full Cushion trucks. During WWII, Union Pacific produced a variety of morale-boosting posters that depicted the railroad’s involvement in supporting the war. The car features a poster with a large hour glass and a long consist of flats carrying tanks.

HEINZ® Series Car #7
RD#: H.J.H Co 305

This 36’ wood sheathed ice reefer with truss rods is brown with decorated sides and runs on Arch Bar trucks. The H.J. Heinz Company was founded in 1869 by Henry John Heinz, first manufacturing horseradish. By the early 1900s, Heinz was manufacturing over 60 food products and relied heavily on their fleet of over 700 colorful billboard boxcars to distribute their products across the country.

Norfolk Southern

This 31’ bay window caboose is light grey with red diagonal stripes on the ends and runs on Bettendorf Swing Motion trucks. Built from repurposed boxcars by Southern Iron and Equipment Company in 1969, this caboose belongs to series 386-391.

Soo Line Gondola w/ Scrap Wood Load

This 40’ drop bottom gondola is brown with white lettering and runs on Bettendorf trucks. Built in Wisconsin in 1953 for Soo Line, it served into the 1980s. They were often used by paper mills in wood service, and were the first gondolas to have the 36” tall block “SOO LINE” lettering.

These 53’ corrugated containers are white with black lettering. Formed in 1992, National Fast Freight provides a Less-than-Truckload service in the US and Canada. Norfolk Southern SD40-2 Locomotives

These EMD SD40-2 locomotives are black with white lettering. Formerly a Conrail locomotive, this SD40-2 was obtained by Norfolk Southern in the 1999 split-up of Conrail and was later repainted with the new “Horse Head Soaring” logo. The EMD SD40-2 is a 3,000 horsepower, turbocharged locomotive with electronic control systems built from 1972 to 1989 with nearly 4,000 units produced. It was the best-selling EMD locomotive in history.

Built in 1926, the SP #100 “Airslie” was originally assigned to Southern Pacific Board Chairman, Henry Wheeler Deforrest and was often seen in New York for company business. Deforrest named the car “Airslie” for a family hunting lodge in Scotland.

Titan Rocket Booster 3-pack

In 1964 Southern Pacific developed the 100-ton F-100 flat cars primarily to use their Hydra-Cushion technology to move large or sensitive components. Five cars of the class were assigned to transport Titan Rocket Boosters and its supporting equipment from Vandenberg AFB, California to Cape Canaveral, Florida for assembly. These cars remained in SP service until 1994 when United Technologies took over the program until the last Titan launch in 2008. This weathered 3-pack will include resin-cast booster canisters, 3D printed AC Units and decals to decorate the loads.

SW1500 Locomotive: Union Pacific®

These SW1500 locomotives are yellow and grey with red lettering and run on Flexicoil trucks. Built from 1970 to 1971 for Southern Pacific, these SW1500 locomotives were repainted for Union Pacific after the 1996 merger, and many continue to serve today. The EMD SW1500 is a 1,500 hp diesel-electric locomotive intended for switching service.

Built in the late 1960s for Frisco, these SW1500 locomotives were acquired by Burlington Northern, and later repainted for BNSF sometime after the merger.
