Great Northern w/sheep load -Rd#56392
Built in 1942 as a wood-sheathed boxcar, these cars were converted into stock cars with Bettendorf trucks in 1969 and some were repainted into the Big Sky Blue paint scheme. These stock cars were primarily used for cattle, but also carried sheep and other livestock. Great Northern was a Class 1 railroad founded in 1881 and eventually was merged with Northern Pacific and others to form Burlington Northern Railroad in 1970.
