N Scale Collector — 2007 N Scale Collector Convention

The West Point Mint, formerly known as the West Point Bullion Depository, was granted mint status on March 31, 1988. This marked the first occasion since 1862 that a new branch mint was named, when Denver joined the family of U.S. mints. In 1986, the “mintmarkless” American Eagle gold and silver bullion coins were introduced with West Point selected as the sole production facility. The West Point Mint car, available in both N and Z scales, is a clear 40’ box car filled with shredded dollar bills. It bears the seal of the U.S. Treasury and an image of the West Point Mint.
