Santa Fe bought 100 tankcars from General American Transportation Corporation in 1930. These tankcars lasted into the 1970's with black paint and into the 1980's in maintenance of way service. In the late 1950's Santa Fe started painting many of these cars in Maintenance of Way White and used them in domestic water service. The one hundred cas were numbered 100800 through 100899.
